Plans for Cultural Centre in Silvertown, E16
Dr. Chandra has revealed plans to turn the area into a thriving cultural centre. Big plans costing approximately £1 billion. The centre will appraise the achievements of ancient civilisations over 6000 years. It will show how the world has evolved over that time. How Indian and other civilisations have grown and changed. He said ‘It would be depicted through mannequins and all kind of technology, 3D, 4D and animatronics.’
Positive and Peaceful Visitor Experience
Visitors will have an abundance of sensory delights on their visual and interactive experience. They will start at the top and pass through museums and art galleries on their journey. Alongside the exhibition, visitors to the centre will have lots of other amenities to choose from. There will be yoga and dance studios and meditation spaces.
There will also be a wedding venue and a conference centre. Plans are in place for a TV production studio too. All of these amenities are set to bring a huge footfall to the area. They would provide many jobs and opportunities to people who wish to work and play in a positive cultural hub.
Hotel and Property Development
The old Millennium Mills is famous in it’s own right. The Man From U.N.C.L.E and The Last of England were just two films which shot scenes here. The building will get a new lease of life. It is to be turned into a hotel if the plans get the green light. Three thousand new homes are in the proposal providing much needed housing for this part of E16.
Furthermore there will be shops, restaurants and even a botanical garden. Dr. Chandra said ‘We expect 10 million people a year to come to this site.’ If the plans get the go ahead then we may have an exciting new venture on our doorsteps.
