London Docklands new home development gets the go ahead

Newham council approved the Silvertown Quays proposal in the last few weeks and the development now has the green light. Construction is due to start early next year. The first phase will see approximately 1,000 new homes in Royal Docks. There will be affordable housing included in the scheme which will see the listed Silo D incorporated into its plans.

Lendlease and Starwood breathe new life into Millennium Mills

Over 20,000 jobs are expected to be created during the time span of the plan!

The 63-acre site is in a beautiful waterfront location. Millennium Mills is an iconic location in London which has been derelict and unused since the 1980s. The old flour mill has however been used as a filming location for many well known television shows and movies including Paddington 2.

The area will now be completely transformed in this mammoth project which will take fifteen years to complete. Over 20,000 jobs are expected to be created during the time span of the plan. Upon completion there will be roughly seven million sq ft of commercial and residential space.

Commercial space & new homes adds to Silvertown’s appeal

The area is already a great place to live and this development will only further add to its appeal. It is a very well connected location, and transport to and from Royal Docks is set to improve with the Elizabeth line in the future. The plan to work with the local community to bring jobs, homes and amazing opportunities is going to be the key to the success of the project.

There will be plenty of new homes in Silvertown and commercial space to invest in. There will be retail units, hotel space and lots of community space for locals to utilise. Mills Square will be a public event space which is going to host events for up to 1500 people. There will also be a park for public use.
