Henry Wiltshire International and our sister company CME Auctioneers in Ireland are running the Great Wall Marathon to raise money for a great charity Build Africa. 8 of us including Jimmy McEvoy, Liz Foy, Ciara Egan, Jas Samra, Holly McEvoy, Kelly Gallagher, Charlie Hainsworth and Mike Vos are taking on one of the world’s most challenging marathons, the Great Wall with it’s staggering 5164 steps, on 16 May, 2015.

Why? To support an amazing charity, Build Africa. Build Africa promotes and improves education in rural communities in Kenya and Uganda. The work it does is truly transformational for the schools and communities it works in.
We are aiming to raise at least £50,000 for an early learning project in north west Uganda. This will provide support to 3,500 young children at six schools. Many primary school children at these schools get off to a poor start. 15 % of children repeat a year by the time they are in year 3 and only 20% make it all the way through to year 7.
The early learning project will work with teachers and parents to increase their engagement both at school and at home.
Training and resources will be given to teachers, libraries and reading materials will be provided, open days held for parents and buddy clubs established for the children.
The project will ensure that children in the early years of primary school have the fundamental skills they need for future learning and achievement – opportunities too often denied them otherwise.
