The high class Elizabeth Line Crossrail service is due to roll into Hayes and Harlington in late 2019 but the delay in building the upgraded station has caused frustration locally. Our estate agents in Hayes have heard there is good news as commencement of works has been announced.

This are set to improve for commuters living in Hayes

Hayes and it’s surrounding area offers buyers the best of both worlds. It is in a fantastic London location yet it can provide great suburban living with commuter options set to improve.

For commuters in Hayes the old station has become frustrating to use. The shops and offices on the railway bridge were demolished almost two years ago. Together with a lack of lifts or ramps this has caused customers with disabilities to struggle to use the services as they stand.

But there is now good news as a contractor has been selected and works are due to start in the New Year. MTR Crossrail have recently announced that Network Rail have made the selection. Contracts are being reviewed and an announcement will be made before Christmas as to who the contract was awarded to. Current foundation works for the new ticket hall must be completed first followed by the commencement of this exciting new project.

New Facilities at Hayes & Harlington Station

The building works on a bright and spacious new ticket hall with many other amenities will commence in the New Year

The new ticket hall will be bright and spacious and host a lot of improvements on the station as it stands. There will be a new footbridge providing access to every platform via four new lifts. Customers will benefit from longer platforms which will prevent overcrowding at peak times. These platforms will have new canopies and there will be a new waiting room on platform 4/5. Alongside this there will be new lighting and station signage together with customer information screens and extra help points. The station will be monitored by CCTV to give people better safety of mind.

Elizabeth Line commencement

The Elizabeth line service is due to commence in December 2019. The tunnel section which was due to be opened this year has been delayed. More time is needed to test the signalling and other aspects of the project. But this announcement will give residents in Hayes and commuters who use the Hayes and Harlington station some positive news. The project is moving forward and the end of any disruption is in sight.
