Property Prices in another league
In the last twenty years, figures show that property surrounding the East London football club West Ham have continued to grow and thrive. The club moved to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Stadium in 2016. Figures show that property prices in the locality have risen steadily and significantly over the last two decades. Over 800% in fact.
A property price league has been compiled recently by Pure Commercial Finance to rate property prices based on ‘football postcodes’. It is no surprise therefore, that the top ten football postcodes in the country are to be found in London. Places like Wimbledon, Crystal Palace and Chelsea all feature on the list.
Ben Lloyd of Pure Commercial Finance says, “These results are compelling. It’s great to see that new football grounds are proven not only to stimulate local infrastructure investment, regenerate tired or unused areas of cities, but to create an unprecedented rise in house prices.”
Top of the table for value in Stratford
Together with the fact that property in Stratford has risen is the simple truth that purchasers still get fantastic value for money in the Stratford area. Property prices have climbed from an average of £46,448 in 1997 to £440,474 in 2018. This is a huge growth and is great news for those that have previously bought in the area. It is also great news for those that wish to buy now.
Stratford is being regenerated and is growing from strength to strength presently. Ongoing developments are bringing many more houses, amenities and opportunities to the area. It is full of open spaces, culture, great eateries and has superb transport links. Yet it continues to be one of the more affordable parts of London to purchase a home, plus it’s still giving great returns on purchases already made. We definitely think that it deserves the number one spot in more ways than one.
