Fish Island is located near Bow, just west of Stratford, and across the water from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, built for the 2012 games. The community is a wonderful mix, with artists and creatives buying property on Fish Island as well City workers looking to break from the corporate world when they get home.

Unlike other East London postcodes, Fish Island has successfully retained its character in spite of heavy bombing during World War II. With its area defined on one side by the River Lea Navigation and by the Hertford Union on another, it’s impossible to separate Fish Island from its heritage, and recently built living spaces are balanced with Victorian industrial architecture. Developments such as the Mission and the Omega Works offer fantastic apartments, both for artists and the creative community working on the Island and for professionals heading out to Canary Wharf every day.
Fish Island is well-connected, with Pudding Mill Lane DLR station situated in nearby Stratford, and Hackney Wick just a few minutes walk away. The introduction of the new “zone 2/3,” commuters heading into the city centre from Stratford and Fish Island can now save money on their tickets, only paying for a journey from zone 2 to zone 1. Fish Island is also on a number of bus routes, and a pleasant bike ride from London’s financial hubs at Canary Wharf and the City.
There’s lots of do in this buzzing, creative area of Fish Island. Street art and studios abound, while across the water, you can visit the Olympic Park, now open for public use and still providing an outstanding stadium and pool for international sporting events.
